During an interview with George Stephanopoulos on Sunday, Hillary Clinton claimed that the FBI has not asked her to answer any questions about her private email server.
That’s just one of several lies or misleading statements Clinton made during that interview, Judge Andrew Napolitano said on “Fox and Friends.”
Judge Napolitano explained that the FBI cannot speak with the subject of a criminal investigation directly if the subject has counsel, which Clinton does.
“The Justice Department – through its lawyers, not through FBI agents – speaks to your lawyers. So it’s lawyer-to-lawyer,” Judge Napolitano said, calling Clinton’s statement “highly misleading.”
He added that the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee recently declined to speak to the inspector general of the State Department about her emails.
“So her statement, ‘I’ve been waiting [since] last August to talk to someone about this,’ is a second lie and a second substantial misleading statement,” Judge Napolitano said.
He said that the third lie Clinton told Stephanopoulos during the interview was that when she was secretary of state, she simply followed the same email procedures as her predecessors.
Judge Napolitano pointed out that’s false, since she had a private server and redirected 100 percent of her digital communications through her personal email, two things that Colin Powell or any other secretary of state never did.
Judge Napolitano pointed out that’s patently false, since she had a private server and redirected 100 percent of her digital communications through her personal email, two things that Colin Powell or any other secretary of state never did.
