US Tourist Killed By Arrow-Shooting Indian Tribe

PORT BLAIR (INDIA) (AFP) –

An American tourist was killed by arrows shot by protected tribesmen living in one of the world’s most isolated regions tucked in India’s Andaman islands, police said Wednesday.

John Chau, 27, had taken a boat ride with local fishermen before venturing alone in a canoe to the remote North Sentinel Island where the indigenous people live cut off completely from the outside world.

As soon as he set foot on the island, Chau found himself facing a flurry of arrows, official sources told AFP.

Contact with several tribes on the islands, set deep in the Indian Ocean, is illegal in a bid to protect their indigenous way of life and shield them from diseases.

Police have registered a case of murder and seven accused persons have been arrested.

“The investigation in this matter is on,” senior police officer Deepak Yadav said in a press release.

Chau had made several trips to the Andaman islands recently before finally managing to make it to the remote stretch by offering money to local fishermen.

“He tried to reach the Sentinel island on November 14 but could not make it. Two days later he went well prepared. He left the dingy midway and took a canoe all by himself to the island,” sources said.

“He was attacked by arrows but he continued walking. The fishermen saw the tribals tying a rope around his neck and dragging his body.

“They were scared and fled but returned next morning to find his body on the sea shore.”

The Andamans are also home to the 400-strong Jarawa tribe who activists say are at threat from outsiders, who often bribe local authorities to spend a day out with them.

But tribes such as the Sentinelese shun all contact with the outside world and are known to be hostile to any encroachers.

The North Sentinel island is out of bounds even to the Indian navy in a bid to protect its reclusive inhabitants who number only about 150.

You Can’t Bullshit Gravity And Mother Nature; You Can Try With Disastrous Results

………..sad, but true!

Article in WSJ told how Finland has no fires. Why? They have controlled burns.

CA, to protect endangered species, prohibits controlled burns, logging restrictions etc, thus come extremely destructive fires.

84 DEAD and almost 1,000 missing. What would be the reaction if a white guy shot and killed 84 (plus perhaps another 1,000)??????????

A town of 20,000 burned to the ground due to CA environment policies.

AP NewsBreak: Roberts RIPS Trump For ‘Obama Judge’ Comment

GOOD FOR YOU JUDGE ROBERTS!…………Papa Mike

WASHINGTON (AP) — Chief Justice John Roberts is pushing back against President Donald Trump for his description of a judge who ruled against Trump’s migrant asylum policy as an “Obama judge.”

It’s the first time the Republican-appointed leader of the federal judiciary has offered even a hint of criticism of Trump, who has previously blasted federal judges who ruled against him.

Roberts said Wednesday the U.S. doesn’t have “Obama judges or Trump judges, Bush judges or Clinton judges.” He commented in a statement released by the Supreme Court after a query by The Associated Press.

Roberts said on the day before Thanksgiving that an “independent judiciary is something we should all be thankful for.”

The White House had no immediate response to a request for comment on Roberts’ criticism.

Last year, the president used the term a “so-called judge” after the first federal ruling against his travel ban. During the presidential campaign, Trump criticized Roberts himself for the chief justice’s decisive vote in 2012 to preserve the Obama health care overhaul.

Trump also referred to a judge who was presiding over a fraud lawsuit against Trump University as a Mexican who would be unable to rule fairly because of Trump’s proposal to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexican border.

The president’s latest remarks come as the Supreme Court is enmeshed in controversy over his appointment of Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Several justices have spoken out about judicial independence and the danger of having the court viewed as a political institution that is divided between five conservative Republicans and four liberal Democrats. Roberts is widely seen as the justice closest to the middle and likely to determine the outcome of high-profile cases that split the court.

Trump had spoken Tuesday when a reporter asked for his reaction to a ruling by U.S. District Judge Jon Tigar in San Francisco that put the administration’s asylum policy on hold.

The president complained that his opponents file lawsuits in courts that are part of the liberal-leaning 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Before he took office, conservative groups tended to bring challenges to Obama-era policies in Texas, part of the conservative-leaning 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

“Every case that gets filed in the 9th Circuit, we get beaten. And then we end up having to go to the Supreme Court, like the travel ban, and we won,” Trump said.

The president went on to say about the asylum ruling: “This was an Obama judge. And I’ll tell you what, it’s not going to happen like this anymore. ”

But the initial travel ban ruling in 2017 was issued by U.S. District Judge James Robart, an appointee of President George W. Bush. Roberts also was appointed by Bush.

It was unclear what Trump meant when he said things would change. The 9th Circuit is by far the largest of the federal appellate courts, covering Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon and Washington. Some Republicans in 9th Circuit states have proposed splitting the circuit in two, but legislation has not advanced.

The court has long had a majority of judges appointed by Democratic presidents, with the current breakdown at 16-7. But Trump has the opportunity to narrow that edge significantly because there are six vacancies, and he already has nominated candidates for five of them.

Watch: Vicious Fight At Broward County School, Student “NOT” Arrested Until Video Goes Viral

Here is part 1 of the brutal fight at @browardschools.

Via Daily Wire:

A high school sophomore at Monarch High School in Broward County, Florida was arrested late last week after a video of her allegedly beating a fellow classmate went viral.

The incident, which happened on November 9, “shows two girls exchanging words before one of them repeatedly punches the other, pulls her hair and slams her head down on a classroom desk as dozens of students watch,” WPLG Local 10 News reported.

The 15-year-old suspect was reportedly issued a civil citation and was not criminally charged because Broward County adopted the PROMISE program, which is an Obama-era program that seeks to significantly lower punishments for crimes committed by students.

The suspect was arrested nearly a full week later on November 15, after Andrew Pollack, who lost his daughter in the tragic Parkland shooting earlier this year, shared the video on social media and turned it over to Coconut Creek Police and not the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

Outrageous! Federal Judge Tosses US Law Criminalizing Barbaric Practice of Female Genital Mutilation

A federal prosecutor announced in court in June 2017 that the government estimates as many as 100 girlswere subject to genital mutilation by a Michigan doctor.

Dr. Nagarwala was arrested in April 2017 and charged for mutilating genitalia of two 7 year old girls. A second Michigan doctor was also arrested a few days later for performing female genital mutilations on little girls.

The Detroit Free Press reported:

In a major blow to the federal government, a judge in Detroit has declared America’s female genital mutilation law unconstitutional, thereby dismissing the key charges against two Michigan doctors and six others accused of subjecting at least nine minor girls to the cutting procedure in the nation’s first FGM case.

The historic case involves minor girls from Michigan, Illinois and Minnesota, including some who cried, screamed and bled during the procedure and one who was given Valium ground in liquid Tylenol to keep her calm, court records show.

The judge’s ruling also dismissed charges against three mothers, including two Minnesota women whom prosecutors said tricked their 7 -year-old daughters into thinking they were coming to metro Detroit for a girls’ weekend, but instead had their genitals cut at a Livonia clinic as part of a religious procedure.

U.S. District Judge Bernard Friedman concluded that “as despicable as this practice may be,” Congress did not have the authority to pass the 22-year-old federal law that criminalizes female genital mutilation, and that FGM is for the states to regulate. FGM is banned worldwide and has been outlawed in more than 30 countries, though the U.S. statute had never been tested before this case.

Genital  mutilation of girls, typically involving removal of all or part of the clitoris, is banned by several international treaties but remains a common cultural or religious practice in some African countries, including Somalia, Sudan and Egypt

Brian Kemp Dismantles Stacey Abrams Voter Suppression Claims Point By Point

  • But the left will keep pushing the lies.

Via Daily Caller:

Georgia’s Republican Gov.-elect Brian Kemp refuted his Democratic challenger Stacey Abrams’ repeated claims of voter suppression on Monday by explaining why the state’s elections are “secure, accessible and fair.”

Kemp called Abrams’ voter suppression allegations “unfair,” while appearing on “Fox & Friends,” and asserted that Georgia’s election system make it “easy to vote and hard to cheat.” Kemp, Georgia’s former secretary of state, oversaw elections as the state’s chief election officer. (RELATED: Democrats Are Misleadingly Blaming The GOP For Racist Voter Suppression In The Georgia Gubernatorial Battle)

Abrams and her campaign have consistently accused Kemp of racist voter suppression. A spokeswoman for Abrams’ campaign released a statement in October claiming that the he is “maliciously wielding the power of his office to suppress the vote for political gain and silence the voices of thousands of eligible voters — the majority of them people of color.” Following Abrams’ loss, she has been appearing regularly on cable news shows repeating those assertions.

Facebook Is On Track To Post Its Longest Losing Streak Ever, And Some Say There’s More Pain Ahead

Facebook is on track to post its longest losing streak ever, and some say there’s more pain ahead

Facebook is on track to post its longest losing streak ever, and some say there’s more pain ahead.

The social media giant’s stock fell nearly 5 percent on Monday, hitting its lowest level since February 2017, as the social media company came under fire after a damaging report about its top management in The New York Times.

Facebook is poised to close its third straight month in the red, which would mark its longest monthly losing streak on record. Furthermore, Facebook is on track for its longest quarterly losing streak since 2013, and its first full year of losses since going public. According to some experts, the stock isn’t done falling.

“Technically, when I look at this, there’s no question that we’ve violated the long-term uptrend support line off of the [2014] lows. We’ve got some support that’s going to come in right around $130, but better support coming in at $114,” Craig Johnson, chief market technician at Piper Jaffray, said Friday on CNBC’s “Trading Nation,” adding that he would stay on the sidelines here, rather than putting fresh money to work, or “further reduce positions on it at this point.”

The shares are on track for their third straight month of losses, something they’ve never done before, and their second straight calendar quarter of losses, which they haven’t seen since 2013.

Others are negative on the stock in the near term, but say it could be a value play in the long run since its valuation has fallen so severely. Mark Tepper, CEO of Strategic Wealth Partners, told “Trading Nation” that he finds its price-earnings to growth ratio, or PEG ratio — a measure of a stock’s value by taking its price-earnings ratio and factoring in its earnings growth rate — reasonable at this juncture.

Chipotle Fires Manager After Admitted Dine And Dasher Called Her ‘Racist’ For Asking For Proof He’d Pay

Via Daily Caller:

Chipotle fired a manger for refusing to serve a black man she suspected had previously stolen food, despite the company knowing that he admitted on Twitter to repeatedly dining-and-dashing.

A company spokeswoman said it had “no choice” but to take the word of the 21-year-old, who was convicted of theft in January and previously pleaded guilty to another theft charge, despite having no evidence that the manager wrongly accused him.

St. Paul, Minnesota, resident Masud Ali posted a video on Twitter of Chipotle employees refusing to serve him and a group of black men after asking for proof that they would pay, saying that Ali had left without paying previously.

“Can a group of young well established African American get a bite to eat after a long workout session. @ChipotleTweets ??” Ali wrote in the tweet, which had received more than 70,600 retweets and nearly 31,500 likes at the time of publication.
